Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM
When it comes to streetwear and hype culture, there are a few names that are OG and have been in the game since before the term “Hypebeast” was coined. When you think of OG streetwear you think of the gorilla from Bape, the red box logo of Supreme and among them are the leaky ice cream cone and the Moon Man from Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM.
Billionaire Boys Club often shortened to BBC and Ice Cream was the first brand started by singer/rapper/ producer/ designer Pharrell Williams along with iconic designer and founder of Bape, Nigo. The world got their first look at BBC when Pharrell dropped the music video for his track “Frontin” in 2003. The Moon Man landed on the streetwear scenes and into our wardrobes.
ICECREAM was started as BBC’s sublabel, which was more skate focussed.
BBC, which perfectly blends streetwear with luxury, has played an influential role in music, fashion, design and culture. But what else can be expected from a creation by Pharrell and Nigo. Both of them have been considered pioneers and visionaries in their respective fields, turning anything they touch into gold. The BBC and ICECREAM collection is an extension and reflection of this.
This week, Capsul adds this iconic brand to their curated collection. The BBC and ICECREAM drop features graphic t-shirts, hoodies, shirts, denims and shorts bearing the famous Moon Man and Dog logo.
Highlights from the collection include the corduroy Varsity Jacket, featuring embroidered details, patchworks and silky quilted inside. The Boss Denim, that features the Dog logo embossed on the front with fun details like icream studs on the back pocket is another stand out piece. The graphic tshirts feature eye catching prints and embroidered details on bright colours.
The drop also includes socks, caps, slippers and skate decks.
