THRASHER X PARRA

Thrasher x Parra is here!

The iconic skate brand joins forces with Dutch artist, Piet Parra for a collaborative drop featuring artworks by Parra, bringing his signature style to graphic printed streetwear staples and creating wearable art.

Parra’s association with the skate world goes way back to his days of being a pro skater for Colorblind Skateboarding after which he served as their artistic director. Since then Parra has worked on graphics for a number of skate brands.

His artistic style can be categorised as neo- pop with an almost Picasso-esque vibe to it- with the subjects of his artwork taking on an abstract, cubic  form, in blocks of solid colours. One can lay their eyes on Parra’s art works in places like the MoMA in SF.

The sneaker world got their first taste of Parra’s art when he joined forces with Nike for an exclusive sneaker drop- the Parra x Nike Air Max 1. Parra later collaborated with Nike for a couple of Parra x Nike Dunk SB drops in the following years.

Speaking of Nike SB, Parra joined forces with them yet again, but this time to design the uniforms for not 1, not 2  but 4 of the delegations at the Tokyo Olympics competing in the first ever Olympic Skateboarding event.

When it comes to the Bible of the Skate world- Parra is no stranger to that either. Thrasher and Parra have collaborated in the past, one of them being the iconic “Knock- Off” drop where Parra misspelled Thrasher on purpose in his artwork- in a successful attempt at bootlegging the bootlegs.

In the latest Parra x Thrasher drop, you will find artworks in signature Parra style with the Thrasher logo misspelled to read “Trasher Megazine” printed on t shirts, crewnecks and hoodies.

The Thrasher x Parra limited edition drop is available at the Capsul store and is live on www.shopcapsul.com
