Capsul Bioscope: Chai, Chords & Chaos—Ridhii Paul’s Creative Journey

If chai is life, then music is the soundtrack, and Ridhii Paul is vibing to both. Designer, musician, and all-around cool cat, Ridhii is the definition of effortless style, both in fashion and in life. We caught up with her for a shoot and a chat, and trust us, she’s as fun as she is fearless.

Ridhii’s world is where guitars meet garments. While she’s busy killing it in fashion, she recently flexed her musical chops by jamming with Mr. Sham G, a Bangalore based liquid music producer. And guess what? She played the guitar bit on one of his tracks that dropped on Valentine’s Day. The track, Almost Love, is a melodic liquid drum and bass masterpiece, where Madishu's soulful vocals and Ridhii’s hypnotic guitar rhythm blend seamlessly to capture the bittersweet ache of love just out of reach. “As a musician, not everybody gets the opportunity when you’re focusing on other things in life, so that was pretty cool,” she shared. Pretty cool? More like insanely cool.

Now, concerts are her jam. Literally. She was all set to see Cigarettes After Sex live, but the universe had other plans (aka, cancellation). Major bummer. But she did make up for it by catching Brian Adams live for the third or fourth time. “It was a vibe, and it just gets better with age,” she said, proving that some legends only get stronger. Oh, and she’s also seen Coldplay twice and Ed Sheeran live but decided to skip their recent India tours. No big deal.

Now, let’s talk about her music taste, it’s got more mood swings than Mercury in retrograde. One moment she’s vibing to Maro and Radiohead, the next she’s on a full Punjabi banger spree with Diljit Dosanjh and Honey Singh. And just when you think you’ve figured her out? Boom, Marilyn Manson. “I have a very bipolar taste in music! It changes every 30 seconds,” she laughed. During the interview, she even blessed us with a live Maro song moment—instant chills.
